Tax Accountant
About the Role
You will leverage industry-leading technology and digital tools to guide the company in innovative tax management and compliance best practices at the international, federal, state, and local levels. Using your data mining and data literacy capabilities, you will spearhead efforts to identify and introduce innovative approaches that deliver meaningful process improvements, efficiency gains, and solid support documentation practices. Successful candidates in this role have been quickly promoted to positions with increasing responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Join the Penske Corporate Tax Team to provide global tax compliance strategies, innovative tax planning approaches, and expertise in tax risk management, including:
- Federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning
- Tax forecasting and other tax savings projects
- ASC740 projects and other financial reporting responsibilities
- Identify process improvement initiatives to streamline projects and increase efficiencies
Requirements
- Recent accounting or finance graduate with 1+ years of income tax experience
- A learning mindset
- Skills to analyze and manipulate complex data sets
- Ability to use digital workflows and tools to accomplish team objectives
- Process improvement skills to increase efficiency, simplicity, and process clarity
- Problem-solving skills to analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement process changes
- Communication skills to build relationships and influence process change across the organization
- CPA certification or candidate preferred (this position qualifies toward the experience requirement in PA)
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to travel as necessary and work at the required location
