About the role

GreenStone Farm Credit Services seeks a seasoned tax professional to join our team. This opportunity offers competitive compensation, including up to 30% of base salary in annual incentives, along with a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tax projections and prepare/review tax returns.
  • Process payroll tax payments and prepare payroll tax forms.
  • Review and provide quality control for payroll & bookkeeping work performed by the Tax & Accounting Assistant, intern, or temp.
  • Actively and aggressively market tax & accounting services to current and prospective customers.
  • Aid in training and guiding tax & accounting staff.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Engage in daily customer interactions, including answering calls and attending meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or tax planning & preparation is required.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent designation is preferred.
  • Must pass the Farm Credit Income Tax Certification Exam after starting employment.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles.

Qualifications

  • Agricultural background.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities and demonstrated initiative.
  • Technical experience with individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns, tax research, and tax software.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles.
  • Ability to perform tax projections and prepare/review tax returns.
  • Experience with payroll tax payments and tax software.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
