About the role
GreenStone Farm Credit Services seeks a seasoned tax professional to join our team. This opportunity offers competitive compensation, including up to 30% of base salary in annual incentives, along with a healthy work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Perform tax projections and prepare/review tax returns.
- Process payroll tax payments and prepare payroll tax forms.
- Review and provide quality control for payroll & bookkeeping work performed by the Tax & Accounting Assistant, intern, or temp.
- Actively and aggressively market tax & accounting services to current and prospective customers.
- Aid in training and guiding tax & accounting staff.
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Engage in daily customer interactions, including answering calls and attending meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or tax planning & preparation is required.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent designation is preferred.
- Must pass the Farm Credit Income Tax Certification Exam after starting employment.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles.
Qualifications
- Agricultural background.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong leadership qualities and demonstrated initiative.
- Technical experience with individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns, tax research, and tax software.
Skills
- Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles.
- Ability to perform tax projections and prepare/review tax returns.
- Experience with payroll tax payments and tax software.
- Excellent customer service skills.
