Essential Functions
- Supervise, hire, onboard/offboard, schedule, and manage payroll for staff.
- Collaborate on business solutions and goals for DTC operations, including tasting rooms and sales channels.
- Forecast and budget monthly and annually, adhering to budget constraints using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Create process efficiencies within tasting rooms and share best practices across the DTC operation.
- Synchronize tasting room and club experiences, promote club membership acquisition, and develop retention strategies.
- Train and develop team on sales strategies, bonus/incentive programs, and KPI tracking.
- Measure and manage sales performance, focusing on bottles per person sold, average bottle price, club conversion, and more.
- Ensure revenue performance aligns with budget.
- Leverage POS and reservation technologies to capture customer data and serve as an expert in Commerce 7 and Cellar Pass.
- Update team members on company policies, wine characteristics, and market information.
- Promote a sales culture by prioritizing safety standards and representing the Hospitality/DTC departments on safety committees.
- Build and sustain a high-performing team, providing exceptional service, and maintaining relationships with VIP customers and club members.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge about wines, viticulture, winemaking techniques, and winery history.
- Support leads and wine sales ambassadors, ensuring they adhere to high hospitality standards.
- Develop customer-facing educational experiences and unique wine experiences to drive incremental revenue.
- Demonstrate leadership through sound business decisions, high ethical standards, and values.
- Manage staff for wine club release dates and events, and coordinate with the DTC Operations manager for proper inventory management.
- Respond to customer requests, suggestions, and complaints.
Physical Demands/Qualifications
- Able to stand, bend, and reach for long periods.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and vision sufficient for extended computer use.
- Hearing sufficient for conversations, both in person and on the telephone.
- Coodination sufficient for operating various office machines.
Non-Physical Demands/Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years working in a winery and/or hospitality industry.
- Passion for food and wine, excellent wine knowledge, and demonstrated ability to sell wine.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to provide critical feedback and disciplinary action.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage workflow and prioritize tasks.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts.
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
- Experience in merchandising and marketing in a retail environment is a plus.
- Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
Environment Conditions
- The office is clean and well-lit.
- The tasting room is clean and maintained at 68 degrees (+/-).
- Incumbent may be required to go outdoors and into various parts of the facility, subjecting them to variations in temperature and humidity.
