Tanker Trailer Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer
• Tank service and repair, including Betts valves and gaskets
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Work with air brake systems and perform repairs
• Use handheld diagnostic tools, tablets, and basic tech skills
• Perform MIG & TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel
• Effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Requirements

• 3+ years of tank trailer repair experience
• Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas: diagnosing failures on mechanical, electrical, or other systems; tank service and repair (Betts valves, gaskets); trailer suspension installation and repair; air brake systems; handheld diagnostic tools; MIG & TIG aluminum and stainless steel; DOT inspections (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a 16" tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces

Pay

$22.00 to $36.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
