Essential Responsibilities
- Perform quality welds in an efficient manner.
- Ability to perform stick welding and flux core welding.
- Connect to leads from welding unit and adjust amperage and voltage.
- Perform different styles of welding – vertical, horizontal, flat, and overhead welding.
- Perform quality welds while in different physical positions as required by the job – i.e. kneeling and laying down.
- Perform clamping, tack welding, fit-up, heat bending, bolting, or other necessary functions to keep warpage at a minimum.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders and other tools as directed to complete daily tasks.
- Clean up weld splatter and grind as necessary.
- Operate and carry out job duties in accordance with FHG’s Core Values and Code of Ethics.
Position Requirements
- A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred.
- Necessary experience to perform quality stick and flux core welding tasks.
- Experience with 100% travel away from home preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with all levels of management.
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.
- Comfortable climbing tall ladders, working at heights, and working in confined spaces.
- Possess a valid state or federal ID.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a TWIC card.
- Possess a valid welding certification.
