About the role

Talent Development Career Advisors assist job seekers and career changers in preparing for and advancing in careers within sustainable, high-growth, high-demand industries. They deliver comprehensive workforce solutions at various centers and partner sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants and provide counseling and mentoring
• Assess participant competencies, work history, educational attainment, skills, and abilities; identify challenges and prompt solutions
• Conduct regular individual meetings for job search, education, job retention, and readiness
• Create an employment plan for short- and long-term goals
• Maintain information on available resources and employers
• Ensure participant accountability and track employment retention goals
• Notify government agencies of participant employment changes
• Monitor participant progress and maintain accurate records
• Facilitate access to training, education, and employment services
• Provide case management and classroom instruction
• Work with a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds
• Communicate effectively with both oral and written methods
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Preferred knowledge of Federal workforce programs
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance due to driving responsibilities
• Related associate's degree or equivalent work experience
• One to three years' experience in workforce development or related programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Familiarity with the communities being served
