Career Development Advisor
About the role
The Center for Career and Professional Development at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks a Career Development Advisor to support Aerospace Engineering and International students in developing the skills and confidence needed for professional success.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and group career advising on topics including resumes and cover letters, interview preparation, networking, job and internship searches, career events, and salary negotiation.
- Assess students' career development needs and deliver customized strategies and resources to support their professional growth.
- Develop and lead workshops, presentations, and events focused on career readiness, including the integration of NACE career competencies.
- Actively identify and source internships, co-ops, and full-time employment opportunities by building relationships with recruiters, companies, and alumni.
- Promote and manage participation in the University's Co-op/Internship for-credit program, guiding students through registration and compliance.
- Engage employers to expand recruiting partnerships and create new opportunities for Embry-Riddle students.
- Assist with Eagle Job Shadow Day, Employer visits, Career Expo, Employer Partner Tailgate and other programing events organized by the Center for Career and Professional Development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in any of the following areas: Career counseling, Academic advising, Student support services, Human resources or recruiting (with a focus on early talent or campus engagement)
- Higher education internships, graduate assistantships, or practicum roles can meet this requirement
- Knowledge of or experience in aviation/aerospace-related and knowledge of the military are highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of career development principles as they relate to college students, with the ability to assess and guide students in their professional growth and job search strategies
- Analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft operating systems (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email), and experience with CRM or Career Services Management Systems (such as Handshake or similar platforms)
- Organizational and time management skills
- Comfort with learning and using career services technologies (e.g., Handshake, Workday)

Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $45,000 to $47,000. The final offer will consider the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience, along with applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.
