Position Overview

The Talent Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and candidates, guiding them through the recruitment, interview, and onboarding process for entry-level to mid-level positions across the bank. This role manages the full-cycle recruitment process, builds strong relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and employees, and delivers an exceptional candidate and manager experience throughout the hiring journey.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as the recruitment consultant to hiring managers and primarily engages in the recruitment of candidates for routine roles within the Retail banking division and entry to mid-level roles within various departments across the bank.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for candidates and managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Takes ownership of the recruitment process for assigned requisitions; engages hiring managers in an intake meeting at the time of the job posting, conducts first review and qualification of applicants, conducts first interviews and recommends candidates to hiring manager for face-to-face interviews.
  • The TC takes ownership and responsibility of communication with hiring managers, providing regular updates and feedback throughout the interview process.
  • Manages multiple requisitions, at various levels, at any time.
  • Works with HR leadership to manage and prioritize their workload with time-to-fill and quality of hire objectives.
  • Screens candidates against job requirements, qualifying candidates against established job-based criteria, and conducts in-depth phone interviews to assess talent.
  • Recruits and hires with an objective toward diversity, equity and inclusion. Follows departmental standards to ensure DEI is a priority with each search.
  • Follows established processes to appropriately status and disposition candidates within the Applicant Tracking System. Ensures conformity with compliance standards for OFCCP compliance.
  • Develops strong bonds with job applicants and prospects; provides a high-quality interview experience and represents the bank professionally through all interactions.
  • Serves as career consultant and networks with candidates and referrals for career placements. Maintains communication commitments and regularly follows up with active candidates.
  • As appropriate, will learn and may engage in the sourcing of prospects from established resources to supplement in the identification of talent for posted requisitions.
  • Follows HR leadership direction in appropriate documentation of sourced candidates.
  • Evaluates each candidate fairly against key job metrics and determines eligibility for additional interviews.
  • Provides guidance to managers who engage in the interview process. Sets expectations regarding the hiring manager’s role within the recruitment process.
  • Leverages ATS for record keeping and accuracy of recruitment documentation through all stages of the recruitment process.
  • Follows established recruitment processes and procedures to ensure a high-quality experience and to meet company, state and federal guidelines.
  • Discusses compensation expectations with candidates and managers; sets expectations based on established pay grades. Partners with managers to align on pay. Leverages HR Compensation team for compensation analysis and learns internal equity, market considerations, and internal grading.
  • Provides compensation expectations to HR Compensation Team and seeks compensation and offer approvals. Extends approved offers, communicating with all involved parties.
  • Assist with intern recruitment and intern program management. Attend and facilitate at all intern events. Support program initiatives as requested.
  • Conduct Intern Recruitment and participate in facilitation and coordination of Intern events and program management.
  • Supports program initiatives as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and one or more years of recruitment experience within a Corporate HR department or recruitment agency; or equivalent combination of education and required experience.
  • Preferred, but not required experience: sourcing and prospecting candidates through various means (cold calls, LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, professional associations, etc.).
  • Financial services recruitment and/or agency recruitment with an emphasis on the financial services industry.
  • Behavioral interviewing techniques; experience developing job-based criteria interview guides.
  • Experience with navigating various HRIS.
  • Intern program recruitment and management.
