About the role

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent across all levels of the company—from apprentices and interns to skilled trades, project managers, and professional staff. The role supports staffing needs aligned with strategic goals and workforce plans, building a high‑performing team for a large‑scale construction operation with over 700 employees.

Responsibilities

  • Full‑cycle recruiting: manage job postings, resume screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offer preparation.
  • Coordinate career fairs and intern programs, partnering with operations and training teams for recruitment, onboarding, and program development.
  • Workforce planning: partner with department leaders to forecast staffing needs and develop talent pipelines for short‑term projects and long‑term growth.
  • Candidate sourcing through job boards, social media, career fairs, trade schools, and community outreach.
  • Employer branding: promote the company as an employer of choice via marketing, events, and social media.
  • Compliance: ensure recruitment practices meet all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Data & reporting: track and report recruiting metrics, trends, and pipeline activity for continuous improvement.
  • Onboarding support: collaborate with HR and training teams to integrate new hires into company culture and safety programs.
  • Industry engagement: build relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, workforce development agencies, and professional organizations.
  • Uphold Tapani’s Purpose document by demonstrating actions and behaviors aligned with the company’s purpose and values.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging candidates at all career stages.
  • Proactive problem‑solver and creative thinker for hard‑to‑fill positions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of recruiting or HR experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of full‑cycle recruiting and sourcing techniques.
  • Experience managing apprentice and internship programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and organizational skills.
  • Office environment with periodic visits to construction sites, job fairs, and schools; occasional evening or weekend events may be required.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull 20 pounds at a time and to sit, stand, and work on a computer for prolonged periods.

Pay

$27.20 – $40.80 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
