Talent Acquisition Lead - US
About the role
Reporting to the Global Head of Talent Acquisition, this role leads a high-performing team of Talent Acquisition and Resourcing professionals, providing strategic direction, operational leadership, and coaching. You will partner with Global Business Services (GBS) and other delivery partners to ensure effective end-to-end recruitment outcomes. The position shapes and drives the recruitment strategy to attract, engage, and hire top talent, optimizing processes and tools while aligning with business goals. You will oversee talent acquisition for all retail management, new store volume recruitment, and central functions roles within the US, as well as strategize for retail hourly recruitment in collaboration with retail and GBS teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead Talent Acquisition across the market, translating Primark's global TA strategy into local priorities that support business growth and evolving talent needs.
- Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing TA leadership team, creating accountability for recruitment delivery, capability, and results.
- Partner with senior business and P&C leaders to shape workforce planning, influence hiring decisions, and develop proactive talent strategies for critical roles.
- Drive a data-led, proactive approach to recruitment, building talent pipelines and using market insights to anticipate future hiring needs.
- Lead recruitment delivery through a blended operating model, working seamlessly with in-market teams, GBS, and external partners to deliver high-quality hiring outcomes.
- Champion an exceptional candidate experience, bringing Primark's employer brand and values to life throughout the recruitment journey.
- Embed global TA processes, technology, and best practices within the market while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, positioning Talent Acquisition as a strategic business partner.
- Oversee recruitment partners, budgets, and governance, ensuring effective, compliant, and commercially sound delivery.
- Travel as needed for market visits, conferences, and internal meetings (domestic & international) - approximately 25% of the time.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading Talent Acquisition within a large, fast-paced, high-growth, or high-volume environment.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing Talent Acquisition teams, with a strong track record of coaching leaders and delivering results.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing talent acquisition strategies aligned with business priorities and workforce plans.
- Experience working within a Global Business Services (GBS), RPO, or other blended recruitment operating model.
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data and market insights to influence decisions and improve performance.
- Experience building trusted partnerships with senior business leaders and influencing across complex, matrixed organizations.
- Proven ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement, and embed new ways of working within Talent Acquisition.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present ideas and insights clearly and confidently.
- Collaborative leadership style with experience working across functions, including Employer Brand, HR, Operations, and other business teams.
- Strong understanding of recruitment governance, employment practices, and delivering an outstanding candidate experience.
- High levels of integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism, with a passion for developing people and creating inclusive teams.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
