TailTracker is building a volunteer Finder Network to help communities respond to lost-pet recovery missions. A Finder does not need to be a professional rescuer; they just need to care about animals, their neighborhood, and following a simple protocol.

• Monitoring local missing-pet alerts
• Checking assigned search areas during an active mission
• Reporting sightings with photos, descriptions, and location details
• Sharing verified posters and QR-code mission pages
• Watching key locations such as trails, parks, yards, alleys, or feeding stations
• Supporting neighborhood awareness without spreading misinformation
• Helping pet families receive calm, organized community support

What Finders Do Not Do

• Chase lost pets
• Enter private property without permission
• Handle dangerous situations
• Replace animal control, law enforcement, or professional recovery specialists
• Act alone outside the mission protocol

Training

The training is free and designed to be simple. It can be started in under 5 minutes and covers:
