Dealers operate various casino games with precision, upholding high standards of customer service, gaming integrity, and entertainment value.
Responsibilities
- Game Operation
- Proficiently deal cards or manage gaming equipment for table games such as blackjack, poker, roulette, craps, baccarat, and more.
- Expertly control the tempo of the game to ensure it is engaging and equitable.
- Guide newcomers through game rules and procedures, fostering a warm and inviting gaming environment.
- Accurately calculate and distribute winnings and payouts for a seamless gaming experience.
- Customer Service
- Interact with guests courteously and professionally, offering assistance, answering inquiries, and ensuring comfort and satisfaction.
- Handle player disputes or rule infractions with tact and diplomacy to foster positive guest experiences.
- Game Security
- Maintain vigilant oversight of the gaming table to detect cheating, irregularities, or suspicious activities.
- Swiftly report concerns or discrepancies to the casino’s security team to preserve game integrity and guest trust.
- Compliance
- Adhere to all casino policies, procedures, and gaming regulations, particularly those unique to the Rio Hotel and Casino.
- Participate in regular and advanced training to stay updated on rule changes and best practices.
- Teamwork
Collaborate seamlessly with fellow casino staff, including supervisors and pit bosses, to ensure harmonious operation of the gaming floor.
- Communication
- Read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Communicate verbally in English with guests and staff.
- Written communication skills in English may also be required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive dealer training program or equivalent relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of casino games offered at the Rio Hotel and Casino, with the ability to adapt to new games and rules.
- Strong mathematical and communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure gaming environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
- Must meet the age requirement for gaming employees in Las Vegas and hold any required gaming licenses or permits.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet established deadlines.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and balance in varying work areas, including confined spaces.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to cigarette smoke and high-volume background noise.
- Varying shift schedules, including evening and late-night hours.
- Prolonged periods of standing to facilitate games and engage with patrons.
