The Eastern Region Systems Engineering organization within Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefining engineering capabilities and advancing various sciences. Our team develops and sustains optimized product lines to provide a decisive advantage to the warfighter.

This position is based in Morrisville, NC, and requires onsite work—remote or hybrid arrangements are not supported. The role may be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions, considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Develop and direct the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems.
  • Coordinate integrated testing activities and review test requirements to ensure completeness of the test program.
  • Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system-level evaluations.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications for Level 2

  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at the time of application.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years with a Master’s degree. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with ground system software deployment, integration, and testing in complex, layered, cloud-based environments.
  • Understanding of requirements decomposition, verification activity planning, and execution.
  • Ability to collaborate with software development teams to ensure understanding, reproduction steps, and resolution approaches.
  • Proactively identify software issues, perform troubleshooting, and conduct root cause investigations to generate detailed problem reports and support rapid, collaborative resolution.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), Git, containerization (Kubernetes, Helm), and Java.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 1 year with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with ground system software deployment, integration, and testing in complex, layered, cloud-based environments.
  • Understanding of requirements decomposition, verification activity planning, and execution.
  • Ability to collaborate with software development teams to ensure understanding, reproduction steps, and resolution approaches.
  • Proactively identify software issues, perform troubleshooting, and conduct root cause investigations to generate detailed problem reports and support rapid, collaborative resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Security+ certification.
  • Adjudicated and active CI Poly.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Understanding of Agile roles and responsibilities.
  • Expertise or understanding of Robot Framework and AWS.

Pay

Primary Level (Level 2) Salary Range: $79,600.00 – $119,400.00.

Secondary Level (Level 3) Salary Range: $98,900.00 – $148,300.00.

Base salary offers consider factors such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, annual bonuses tied to individual and company performance, and long-term incentives for Vice President or Director positions.
