About the role

SAIC is seeking a talented and driven Systems Test Engineer to contribute to the development, testing, integration, and deployment of cutting-edge solutions that enhance warfighter capabilities and improve the user experience for mission-critical applications. You will play a crucial role in integrating new ground systems with legacy infrastructure, testing software, hardware, and complex systems to streamline secure development and deployment. Working within a rapid prototyping team, you will collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, DevSecOps engineers, and other systems engineers to ensure robust and high-performing solutions.

This role supports the planning, testing, maintenance, and operational efforts for the Battle Management Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (BMC3I) software. Responsibilities include facilitating application testing activities, assisting with mission planning, and acquiring in-depth knowledge of each application's purpose and testing requirements. Close coordination with mission application developers and stakeholders across the BMC3I ecosystem is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and actively participate in agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Develop and execute test plans and test cases for mission-critical applications.
• Integrate new ground systems into legacy SCN systems, covering roadmap development, system design, and on-site testing for seamless interoperability.
• Oversee and contribute to functional, regression, exploratory, and Section 508 compliance testing.
• Provide strategic guidance for integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in partnership with developers and clients.
• Promote test automation and best practices to improve software quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve testing issues.
• Build and maintain a deep understanding of mission applications and their testing requirements.
• Create system development roadmaps with expertise in planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management for integration projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 14+ years of experience, Master’s with 12+ years, or PhD with 10+ years of related experience.
• 10 years of software and systems testing experience supporting the full lifecycle with solid skills in test environments.
• Experience with MS SQL Server database and SQL.
• Experience modernizing and integrating new ground systems with legacy infrastructures.
• Experience with Section 508, accessibility testing approaches, and screen readers such as JAWS.
• Exceptional leadership, analytical, communication, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
• Ability to work in team environments across diverse projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Thorough understanding of SCN architecture, protocols, and operational procedures for satellite control, including both legacy and new systems.

Desired Qualifications

• Background in data analytics or data engineering, with a focus on testing data-intensive applications.

Pay

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
