About the role

The Systems Technician will commission, install, and service AV system solutions for Spye clients. This position will work closely with the Programming, Project, and Service Managers along with programmers, technicians, and installers. This role will lead or assist in the configuration, setup, and commissioning of systems integration projects and service-related issues as assigned. The Systems Technician is expected to be an active and supportive member of the project and service teams while abiding by the core values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors, and displays
• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
• Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems-related tasks
• Assist with basic rack wiring
• Test point-to-point functionality of systems
• Field installation of AV system hardware
• Train and mentor junior installers
• Make minor programming changes under the direction of a programmer as needed
• Provide site supervision of the install team with direction from the Project Manager
• Perform client training as needed
• Responsible for job documentation as needed
• Demonstrate job site leadership
• Lead or assist in the configuration and deployment of digital signage solutions and installations
• Lead or assist in service and maintenance for digital signage solutions and installations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues
• Understand and maintain project budgets
• Effectively manage multiple projects
• Demonstrate time management skills with attention to detail
• Understand AV system functionality and installation processes and techniques
• Understand technical and construction documents
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project, and Adobe Acrobat
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record

Qualifications

• Obtain and maintain Extron Certifications: XTP Technician, ProDSP Specialist
• Obtain and maintain CTS Certification
• Become familiar with the AV systems Spye deploys and configures
• Become proficient at commissioning, configuring, and troubleshooting Extron systems hardware
• Become familiar and proficient in assisting, configuring, commissioning, and training clients with Zoom Rooms setups
