Systems Software Engineer

About the role

Jd is seeking a Systems Engineer with a strong background in RF design and SW integration. The ideal candidate will have experience with leading teams, DO 254, DO-178C, DO160G (EMI), SW Requirements Development, and various application areas supporting avionics functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements and documentation
• Work in DAL A software development environment
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous integration/deployment pipelines
• Apply software development best practices and design patterns
• Develop and maintain systems documentation and perform systems testing
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Prepare planning and certification documentation
• Collaborate with defense customers and adhere to customer processes
• Lead projects and demonstrate continuous learning and improvement
• Understand and apply FAA and safety regulations
• Interface with customers and manage quality assurance processes
• Perform lab and test equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Manage and coordinate with ISC/QSR/Shipping and Receiving teams
• Have electronics knowledge and lab/test experience
• Manage and develop test equipment and tools
• Understand and apply MOPS guidelines

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly programming languages
• Experience with software development tools and version control systems
• Understanding of software development best practices and architecture principles
• Experience with systems documentation and systems testing
• Experience with flight test and engineering tools
• Experience with JIRA and Bitbucket
• Experience with systems integration and certification processes
• Experience with FAA and safety regulations
• Experience with electronic components and lab equipment
• Experience with customer interfaces and quality assurance
