About the Role

Raytheon, part of RTX—the world’s largest aerospace and defense company—is seeking a Systems Security Engineer I to join our Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team. This role focuses on developing holistic security solutions leveraging Cyber Security, Software Assurance, and Supply Chain Risk Management to support Program Protection Implementation on embedded weapons systems. Your work will directly contribute to protecting our nation and Warfighters.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results
• Create patch artifacts such as patch media and information assurance posture reports; run regression tests on the system
• Validate secure configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, and other assets using DoD-approved scanning and assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, STIG, Evaluate STIG, RADIX)
• Create and maintain Linux Bash and Python scripts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with less than 2 years of prior experience
• U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret or interim clearance required prior to start date)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux Bash and Python scripting
• Basic understanding of the systems engineering process
• Cyber Certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 (e.g., CISSP, GSLC, CEH)
• Knowledge or coursework in radar, signal & image processing, digital communications, control theories, estimation theory, and/or electro-optics
• Active/current DoD security clearance or SSBI

Pay

The salary range for this role is $57,200 – $108,800 USD. The final offer considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
