Systems Helper

Our Employee-Owned company has immediate full-time openings in Albany, GA. This position will work within Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, and Federal businesses and be part of an amazing and growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and comprehend basic blueprints and layout from shop drawings
  • Physically install network and fiber optics structured cable distribution systems
  • Install outlets, pull cable, install fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing
  • Form, dress, and label cables to industry standards
  • Terminate, assemble, and connect RJ45 modular and coaxial connectors
  • Test copper cables to established certification parameters utilizing appropriate tests as required
  • Remove and demolish abandoned cables
  • Maintain systems according to industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, BICSI, and local low voltage codes
  • Install backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures
  • Satisfy customers to provide repeat sales and favorable recommendations
  • Abide by all customer and general contractor rules
  • Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task
  • Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention
  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company
  • Support the goal of achieving zero accidents
  • Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed
  • Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel
  • Ensure all personnel conduct themselves in a safe manner at all times
  • On at least a daily basis, preplan and identify task-specific hazards and the means to mitigate them
  • Observe the habits of others and bring deficiencies to their attention

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience can substitute the technical degree
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
  • Prior experience with electrical or construction work preferred
  • Ability to positively identify colors of wires
