Our Employee-Owned company has immediate full-time openings in Albany, GA. This position will work within Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, and Federal businesses and be part of an amazing and growing team.
Responsibilities
- Learn and comprehend basic blueprints and layout from shop drawings
- Physically install network and fiber optics structured cable distribution systems
- Install outlets, pull cable, install fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing
- Form, dress, and label cables to industry standards
- Terminate, assemble, and connect RJ45 modular and coaxial connectors
- Test copper cables to established certification parameters utilizing appropriate tests as required
- Remove and demolish abandoned cables
- Maintain systems according to industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, BICSI, and local low voltage codes
- Install backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures
- Satisfy customers to provide repeat sales and favorable recommendations
- Abide by all customer and general contractor rules
- Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task
- Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company
- Support the goal of achieving zero accidents
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed
- Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel
- Ensure all personnel conduct themselves in a safe manner at all times
- On at least a daily basis, preplan and identify task-specific hazards and the means to mitigate them
- Observe the habits of others and bring deficiencies to their attention
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
- Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience can substitute the technical degree
- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
- Prior experience with electrical or construction work preferred
- Ability to positively identify colors of wires
