Systems Engineering Lead and Functional Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced People Manager to lead and manage a small team of Systems Engineers at BAE Systems. The successful candidate will have a well-rounded Systems Engineering background with a focus on EO/IR products to provide direct program support and manage employee performance, set goals, and provide regular feedback to ensure team members are meeting expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support CEMA program execution in a Systems Engineering Role developing EO/IR solutions for the warfighter.
- Supervise a small team of Systems Engineering direct reports providing coaching and mentoring to team members to help them develop new skills and achieve their career goals.
- Partner with CEMA product Line Leadership to effectively staff programs, manager utilization, support bids/proposals and support the realization of strategic goals.
Requirements
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field, and minimum of 12 years of work experience or equivalent experience.
- Must hold an active Secret clearance.
- Prior experience leading a team of System Engineers.
- Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test).
- Working experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management.
- Prior experience implementing Agile engineering methodologies on large development programs.
- Prior experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience interfacing with upper management; customer facing.
Preferred
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 10 years of experience or Ph.D. with 8 years of experience.
- Demonstrated success in leading Systems Engineering Teams through major program milestones such as, SRR. SFR, PDR and CDR.
- Previous experience as a functional manager.
- Active TOP SECRET Clearance (or higher).
- Significant Experience with Cost Account / Earned Value Management.
- Previous experience with Model based systems engineering with tools such as Magic Draw.
- Experience using laboratory instrumentation (e.g. spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal & waveform generators) in an academic or commercial environment.
- Experience creating and maintaining link budgets and analysis related to EOIR systems.
- Experience with I&T / Field testing of EOIR Systems in remote environments.
- Conducting trade studies, modeling and simulation, and other forms of analysis.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743
