About the Role
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration, and improvement of selected IT Network & Infrastructure Systems at Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) facility in Clayton, NC. This 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site produces innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. You’ll join a global network of manufacturing professionals passionate about making a difference in healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Support all network infrastructure devices and services
- Support the site’s wireless technology
- Provide both analog and digital phone support
- Work with carriers and vendors to ensure redundancy and availability of networks
- Provide Tier 1 IT network support
- Provide ad-hoc production support and after-hours support to the site
- Ensure IT systems are available, capable, and accessible
- Improve capability by analyzing and enhancing the flow of information to key business units
- Recommend and implement new technologies or improve existing technologies to meet customer needs
- Support site and IT projects
- Support and practice IT security
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
- Ability to perform close precision work with hands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time
- May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role
- May require color vision based on role
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder
- May be required to work at elevated heights
- Occasionally works around odorous and/or hazardous materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience or ten (10) years of direct experience required
- Practical experience in implementing and administering networks with more than 500 clients preferred
- Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) preferred
- Specific knowledge of networking principles and concepts preferred
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and document IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) and infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc.) preferred
- Perform project implementation and management tasks, including risk assessments, vendor analysis, specification development, system implementation, and training for IT and telecommunication projects preferred
- Perform life-cycle system development tasks for IT network and infrastructure systems preferred
- Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations and guidelines as they relate to computer-based information and automation systems preferred
- Manage supported areas within IT infrastructure cost center budget preferred
- Adhere to IT Networking/infrastructure policies and procedures preferred
- Responsibility for implementing IT network security preferred
- Coordinate activities of IT Networking/infrastructure/Application teams preferred
- Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with federal and corporate requirements preferred
- Participate in corporate infrastructure guidance groups preferred
- Serve as IT Responsible for network and networking systems infrastructure preferred
- Experience in strategic IT planning, IT project management, IT systems analysis (requirement gathering, cost/benefit proposal generation), software life cycle methodologies, software quality assurance, system specification development, analytical problem solving (SPC, TQM), critical FDA computer system requirements (21CFR Part 11), computer system management, configuration management and control, and information system security principles preferred
