Systems Engineer II/III

About the role

Experienced Systems Engineer to support development of a variety of military-based complex systems within Textron System’s Weapon Systems business area.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall requirements traceability, interface management, and risk management for the system.
• Conduct system modeling, operations analysis, and requirements decomposition in support of system design.
• Perform system-level trade analysis of different design options including estimated development and operational costs.
• Develop system requirement specifications for the overall system including verification plans.
• Generate overall system architecture to satisfy customer, functional, reliability, and safety requirements.
• Address engineering lifecycle from development to manufacturing to fielding and support.
• Coordinate and execute milestone project reviews, technical reviews, and decision tradeoff analysis.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas is useful:
  • Use of Model-Based Systems Engineering principles to develop SysML Models.
  • Experience with DOORS requirement management tool.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related discipline with 2 years of related experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Customer interfacing and ability to build relationships.
• Ability to work in teams and independently with minimal direction.
• An existing U.S. Security Clearance is preferred; the ability to obtain one is required.
• Use of Model-Based Systems Engineering principles to develop SysML Models and DOORS requirement management tool is preferred.

This role is open at multiple levels. Candidates will be hired at a level consistent with their background and experience.

Pay

• Level II: $92,600–$139,600 per year
• Level III: $115,800–$176,200 per year

The pay range for this position is $92,600 - $176,200 per year, based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

Schedule

Full-time, compressed work week (9x80). Travel is required up to 10% of the time.
