Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements, conceptual operation documents, and high-level system architectures to formulate system requirement specifications.
- Oversee design and development tasks, assist users in defining requirements, suggest alternative methods, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Provide technical leadership to integrate requirements, design, and technology, and implement new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and design documentation.
- Guide system development and implementation planning by assessing or preparing system engineering management plans and integrating with other engineering disciplines.
- Deploy comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
- Establish operational, technical standards, and system/service views for architectures.
- Review and/or endorse system engineering documentation to ensure alignment with system requirements and accuracy.
- Evaluate program risks, determining their likelihood and quantified consequences as per an approved risk management strategy.
- Create timeline analysis diagrams illustrating the progression of time-dependent functions.
- Formalize a process to proactively control and manage changes to requirements, considering impacts beforehand, gaining stakeholder consensus, clarifying ambiguities, ensuring traceability to source requirements, and tracking and resolving outstanding issues.
- Oversee and uphold the technical integrity of the system baseline over time, continuously updating it to accommodate changes throughout its lifecycle, from development through deployment and operations & maintenance.
- Offer technical guidance for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components within complex hardware/software systems. This includes requirements elicitation, analysis, and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, crafting system architectures, and conducting technical/non-technical assessments and management, as well as end-to-end flow analysis.
- Formulate scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept depicting the interactions among the system, user, and environment, addressing operational, support, maintenance, and disposal needs.
- Conduct quantitative analysis on non-functional system performance aspects such as Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, Survivability, Producibility, etc.
Qualifications
- Fourteen (14) years of experience of professional experience as a Systems Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Security Clearance Required.
