Systems Engineer II
About the role
with. - Duties and Responsibilities: list of tasks. Use
- .
- Education and Experience: includes requirements: Bachelor's degree, 5+ years experience, generation of systems requirements, etc. Also desirable experience includes: familiarity with IFF, functional knowledge of RF, Radar, ATC, SSR/IFF, data analysis using MATLAB, MBSE experience, cybersecurity/safety certification a plus. Also "Other: Occasional travel requiring overnight stays may be required, airline travel must be acceptable". Also "Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance". Also "#ADBU" maybe ignore.
We need to split into sections: Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule.
We have Education and Experience (requirements). Desirable experience could be Qualifications or Skills. We'll decide.
We have "Compensation and Benefits:" with details: benefits list, compensation range $87,088 - $145,146, additional compensation: annual/quarterly bonus may apply, shift premium for alternative shift. So we have Pay and Benefits sections.
Schedule: Not mentioned explicitly. No schedule info. So we should not include Schedule section.
We also have "Export Statement" and EEO boilerplate which we should remove.
Thus sections:
- About the role (paragraph)
- Responsibilities (list)
- Requirements (Education and Experience mandatory)
- Qualifications (desirable experience)
- Skills (maybe technical skills like DOORS, MATLAB, Cameo, test equipment, etc.) Could combine with Qualifications but we need to follow instruction: prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones. Could merge Qualifications and Skills into one? But we have headings list; we can include both if they have content. Let's see.
We have mandatory requirements: Bachelor's degree, 5+ years SE experience, generation of systems requirements, design documentation, interface documentation, management of requirements using DOORS, familiarity with standard test equipment (scopes, analyzers). That's Requirements.
Desirable/Qualifications: Familiarity with IFF Systems and/or general Military and Civilian ATC Systems, Functional knowledge of RF, Radar, ATC, or SSR/IFF system elements (antennas, receivers, transmitters, processors), Data analysis using MATLAB or equivalent, MBSE experience with Cameo or equivalent a plus, Cybersecurity and/or Safety Certification experience a plus. Also maybe "Occasional travel requiring overnight stays may be required, airline travel must be acceptable" could be under Other but we could put under Requirements? It's a condition. Could be under Requirements as well. But we can put under Qualifications.
Skills: Could list specific technical skills: DOORS, MATLAB, Cameo, test equipment (scopes, analyzers), RF, Radar, ATC, SSR/IFF, etc. But we already have those in Qualifications. To avoid duplication, maybe we combine Qualifications and Skills into one section called "Qualifications & Skills". But instruction says use headings for those specific names; we can still include both if they have content. However we risk duplication. Let's think: The posting includes "Education and Experience:" which is clearly requirements. Then "Desirable relevant experience includes:" which is qualifications. Then there is no explicit "Skills" list but we could extract skills from those items: DOORS, MATLAB, Cameo, test equipment, etc. Could be considered skills. But we could put them under Qualifications as well, and omit Skills section to avoid thin sections. The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So better to have fewer sections. So we can have About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Benefits, Pay. That's six sections.
We need to ensure we don't include empty sections.
Now format:

Pay
Compensation range: $87,088 – $145,146 (annual). Additional compensation may include an annual or quarterly company bonus based on position assignment, and a shift premium for alternative shift work.
We need to ensure we didn't include Schedule. Also we need to remove any boilerplate like "Export Statement", EEO, etc. Already omitted. Check that we preserved all substantive information: Did we miss any? Let's review original: - Intro about TTM: we omitted company description; but that's not role-specific; maybe not needed. The instruction: "Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it) and do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a shortor drop it." The company description could be considered minor metadata; but it's substantive about the company. However we might keep it under About the role? Already we have a paragraph about role. Could we add a short paragraph about company? The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. The company description is substantive. Should we include it? Possibly under About the role as additional context. But the heading "About the role" is for role description; we could still include company info there. However the instruction says "use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)". So About the role is a heading; we can put both role and company description under it. That would preserve company info. Thus modify About the role paragraph to include both: "TTM Technologies, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of technology products, including mission systems, radio frequency (“RF”) components, RF microwave/microelectronic assemblies, and technologically advanced printed circuit boards (“PCB”s). TTM stands for time-to-market, representing how TTM's time-critical, one-stop design, engineering and manufacturing services enable customers to reduce the time required to develop new products and bring them to market. Come join a dynamic team of Systems Engineers architecting today’s leading-edge technologies in support of our military and civilian secondary surveillance (IFF) operators. Our SEs support the entire lifecycle of IFF development, from initial proposals to post-delivery validation and test, ensuring a challenging and rewarding career with exposure to all facets of systems engineering. All of our engineering design and test is accomplished at our Farmingdale to provide an immersive experience from start to finish, with close coordination with all engineering disciplines." We need to ensure we didn't miss any other details: The posting also mentions "Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to issue a Secret Clearance, which includes US Citizenship." We included that in Requirements. Also "#ADBU" maybe ignore. Also "Compensation and Benefits: TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accident benefits, life insurance, disability benefits, paid vacation & holidays. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered." We captured benefits but missed the detail about benefits availability date and that for some positions only PTO and holiday benefits are offered. Should we include that? It's substantive. We can add a
under Benefits: "Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered." Also compensation details: "Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $87,088 - $145,146 Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location." We captured range and bonus/shift premium but missed the notes about factors
