What You Will Do
- Design, build, maintain high-throughput, low-latency systems software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems.
- Contribute to the evolution of our infrastructure for scalability and performance.
- Work independently to dig into challenging problems - while knowing when to ask for help.
- Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to support trading platform development.
- Apply a deep understanding of system usage design decisions.
What SpiderRock Is Looking For
- 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 4-5 years of professional experience writing system-level code in C#, C++, or a similar language.
- Strong knowledge of operating system abstractions (Windows or Linux).
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with high-throughput and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Proven track record of solving problems in a fast-paced environment.
- A mindset for digging in and figuring things out, with a balance of independence and collaboration.
- Experience with kernel bypass technologies, a high plus.
- Background in performance tuning, allocations and GC, highly preferred.
- Curiosity about how software interacts with hardware at a low level.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Independent initiative-taker.
