Systems Engineer/Data Modeler-Senior (#2077)

About the role

The Senior Systems Engineer/Data Modeler will apply a structured approach to design and implementation of systems and processes to capture and translate mission and customer requirements in order to transform them into capabilities, testing and validation of services. The role involves analyzing and allocating requirements to systems architecture components, overseeing the development, testing and validation of systems and services, and coordinating the integration of systems and services into the enterprise architecture and overseeing deployment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Government in directing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis across the NSG, ASG and Federal Agencies.
• Direct and oversee the planning, analysis/traceability of user requirements, architectures traceability, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
• Advise the Government on proposed changes to the solutions designs based on analysis of requirements and new technology.
• Aid the Government in capturing and translating mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
• Analyze and allocate requirements to systems architecture components and execute programs.
• Support the analyses and allocation of requirements to systems architecture components and executing programs.
• Assist the Government in performing systems integration activities.
• Lead Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
• Aid the Government in strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management and interface design.
• Provide expert advice to the Government in the areas of relating vision, strategy, plans, needs, requirements, and process and capability developments.
• Operate at the level of integrating multiple Major Systems Acquisitions across organizational, agency, department, and governmental/national boundaries.
• Support Data Standards Officers and Sub Committees with maintaining the structure and data standards associated with Structured Observation Management (SOM) with responsibilities to ensure the ontology is to the standards (Object types, hierarchy, attributes, relationships, etc.).

Requirements

• Systems Engineering experience with the System/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience supporting Structured Observation Management (SOM).
• Familiarity with Geospatial/GEOINT Ontology concepts.
• Familiarity with Imagery Analysis Standards.
• Agile and DEVCAP Methodology experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus 4 years of experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience, Associate’s degree plus 8 years of experience, or Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field.

Skills and Tasks

• Performs multiple tasks at specialist level.
• Leads multiple Junior/Mid-level personnel.
• May be recognized as a SME.
• Evaluates & recommends new technology & processes based upon cost, risk, mission.
