Systems Engineer – China Customer Enablement (Mandarin)

The Role

At AMD, this role requires business-level fluency in Mandarin, involving regular technical engagement with China-based customers. It demands a seasoned professional with strong technical expertise in server platform hardware who can navigate the complex interplay between hardware and software in AI GPU solutions. The role involves facilitating close collaboration with Instinct platform and product architects, lead system designers, and firmware developers to shape future AI products that stand out in the market and provide unrivaled value to customers.

This role supports the Data Center GPU, Customer Technical Readiness Leadership (CTRL) team, focusing on customers' systems development, deployment, and sustaining activities. You will engage with customers on requirements during the concept and pre-sales timeframe, translating business usage models into system hardware features and requirements. Your systems engineering expertise will be necessary for product development, definition, and root cause resolution.

THE PERSON

As a technical leader in AI Customer Enablement, you will work with key customers to enable rack-scale systems solutions that meet the performance and business use cases of China-based customers operating in the US. Your systems engineering expertise will be essential for supporting product development, definition, and root cause resolution. Key responsibilities include:

• Understanding the system-level features and functionality needs of China-based, Instinct product customers.
• Engaging with customers on requirements during the concept and pre-sales timeframe, shaping the overall technical direction of our AI solutions.
• Translating business usage models into a set of system hardware features and requirements.
• Providing architectural guidance and support to our internal systems design teams as we help them develop reference designs.
• Supporting customers through the end-to-end system development and deployment process.
• Leading customer architectural overview conversations on next-generation AMD GPU architectures.
• Helping customers resolve issues in their AI server design in domains such as power, thermal, mechanical, and electrical.
• Developing and driving design review processes of our customer's platform designs and flagging areas for improvement.
• Providing strategic oversight for our AMD participation in industry consortiums, driving key AI initiatives.
• Driving future product architecture influence, leveraging insights from deep customer execution engagements.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience in server platform hardware design and development.
• Expertise in networking and storage solutions in data centers.
• A track record of working closely with customers, engaging in dialogue to understand their needs and aligning our product development accordingly.
• Experience working with ODMs & OEMs and MDCs in delivering complex solutions at significant scale.
• A history of influencing architectural direction through product execution learnings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience speaking Mandarin is a requirement.
• Education: BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
