We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support a cutting-edge autonomous drone delivery program. This role is focused on troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and operational issues that occur in live environments. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who can investigate failures, analyze logs, diagnose root causes, and work across multiple systems to restore functionality.
About the role
This position is well-suited for engineers who enjoy diving deep into technical problems, working with ambiguity, and leveraging data-driven troubleshooting methodologies. You will work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to resolve issues related to drone systems, payload mechanisms, software validators, system performance, and operational failures.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve complex system failures affecting drone and payload operations.
- Analyze software, hardware, and operational issues using logs, diagnostics, maintenance reports, and system data.
- Troubleshoot validator failures, corrupted files, software errors, and system performance issues.
- Partner with maintenance and operations teams to address escalated issues that extend beyond standard repair procedures.
- Use a structured, evidence-based approach to identify root causes and validate corrective actions.
- Review Linux system logs and utilize command-line tools to diagnose intermittent system failures.
- Develop and execute test plans to verify fixes and prevent recurring issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement long-term solutions and process improvements.
- Evaluate technical recommendations and solutions with a focus on accuracy, validation, and operational reliability.
- Document findings, root causes, and resolutions to support continuous improvement efforts.
