About the role
This job requires a broad engineering skillset, well-developed work habits, and an eagerness and enthusiasm for solving engineering challenges. Projects will include the design, documentation, and testing of a wide array of systems in the areas of undersea defensive systems, torpedo test equipment, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), system design, and other evolving tasking.
Responsibilities
- Providing system-level engineering support and expertise to a cross-functional team.
- Authoring and maintaining technical documentation, such as Requirements Specifications, Concepts of Operation, Product and Performance Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Compliance Matrices, Qualification Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports.
- Developing and documenting engineering processes and standards in support of customer requirements.
- Developing documentation for and leading SETR events for electromechanical systems including System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), System Functional Reviews (SFRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
- Interface directly with customers to define key requirements, and ensure project alignment with the full systems lifecycle concept, design, integration, verification, validation, and transition to production.
- Providing preliminary solutions to engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner.
- Identify and apply current and emerging Digital Engineering practices, methods, and tools to address our sponsor and partners' most pressing challenges.
- Apply knowledge and principles of agile acquisition, architecture design, system integration, risk assessment/management, and other systems engineering disciplines to support recommendations to address these challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related experience; Master's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university; Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Must have an understanding of Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Requirements analysis experience.
Clearance Requirements: Must be able to initially obtain an Interim Secret Clearance and then obtain and hold an Active Secret Clearance for the duration of work on the contract.
