We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join a manufacturing organization in Carrollton, Texas on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role.
About the role
In this role, you will support software integration efforts by deploying and configuring security-focused solutions while contributing across planning, build, validation, and release activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working through technical challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining a high standard of documentation and process discipline.
Responsibilities
- Support software integration projects from initial requirements review through design, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and release.
- Deploy, install, and configure security and software solutions within Microsoft-based environments to meet defined technical and business needs.
- Translate approved requirements and change documentation into effective system implementations that align with project design expectations.
- Participate in system integration activities such as database setup, software configuration, and environment preparation for project delivery.
- Assist with functional and integration testing by identifying defects, investigating root causes, and helping drive issue resolution.
- Prepare accurate technical records, test evidence, and project deliverables to support compliance and milestone reviews.
- Collaborate with engineers, internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers to communicate progress, surface risks early, and maintain project momentum.
- Contribute during onsite installation and commissioning efforts as needed to support successful deployment and handoff.
- Follow established engineering methods, configuration controls, and organizational procedures to ensure quality and consistency across assigned work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of applicable experience in place of a degree.
- Hands-on exposure to systems integration and the software or system development lifecycle, including implementation and verification activities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts, Active Directory, software configuration, and relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to operate independently while also contributing effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
- Experience with real-time or process control systems, C++, or real-time messaging technologies is a plus.
