About the role
Leidos Defense is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a matrixed organization of systems engineers, model-based systems engineers, and specialty systems engineers. This Systems Engineer will develop systems engineering artifacts, including Requirements Specifications, Test Procedures, Test Reports, CONOPS, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) content. The Systems Engineer will work in a matrixed organization, supporting multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop systems engineering artifacts, including Requirements Specifications, Test Procedures, Test Reports, CONOPS, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) content.
- Work in a matrixed organization, supporting multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to effectively communicate within a team environment.
- Support the development of systems engineering artifacts, including Requirements Specifications, Test Procedures, Test Reports, CONOPS, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) content.
- Lead a team of engineers in the development of systems engineering artifacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience in deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- US Citizenship required and eligibility to be able to obtain/maintain secret security clearance.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- Preferred Qualifications: Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master of Science in System Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience and/or working knowledge with Cameo/MagicDraw and/or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling tools.
- Demonstrated experience effectively leading a team of engineers.

- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering.

- Experience in System Safety Engineering.
- Experience in Risk Management.
- Experience in Reliability Analysis.
Benefits
Pay Range: $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
