Systems Engineer and Modeler
About the role
The Systems Engineer and Modeler plays a crucial role in developing and integrating Department of Defense systems. They lead the technical development and integration of aerospace hardware from concept to test, ensuring that the systems meet the customer's mission needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct system-level trade studies to identify and balance conflicting requirements
- Deliver complex aerospace hardware from concept to test
- Create, integrate, and apply interdisciplinary digital models of systems from concept throughout the product lifecycle
- Develop or contribute to solutions for a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity in support of hypersonic testing and development
- Orchestrate the development of a system of interest, encompassing hardware and software, through its entire life cycle
- Work independently with some guidance and review or guide the activities of junior employees
- Collaborate with domain experts, manage risks or opportunities, and tailor processes to meet specific project needs
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with systems design, integration, and testing activities
- Experience conducting system-level trade studies to identify and balance conflicting requirements
- Experience delivering complex aerospace hardware from concept to test
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- Nice to have: Experience with requirements derivation and definition, requirements validation and verification, gated design review process, knowledge of SysML or UML, and requirement management tools such as DOORS or JAM
