Leidos has an opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer - Modeler in our Intel Sector-Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). Our team leads in Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations (CNO), Mission Software, Analytical Methods and Modeling, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Cryptographic Key Management.

About the role

You will join a high-performing Agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The program supports capability modernization, legacy system integration, Agile software development, cybersecurity, systems security compliance, COTS integration, test and evaluation, implementation, and operations and maintenance (O&M). You will collaborate with customer technical representatives and senior leadership to shape multi-year solutions and ensure an integrated approach to achieve mission objectives. This role involves guiding technical teams through large-scale, complex capability development as part of a broader system development effort.

You will work with a team of Model-Based Systems Engineers using DODAF and Unified Architectural Framework (UAF) methodologies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will engage with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and subcontractors, to develop comprehensive architecture artifacts and influence diverse Agile teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering discovery and shape multi-year solutions to meet customer mission objectives.
  • Guide technical teams in developing large-scale, highly complex capabilities as part of an integrated system effort.
  • Collaborate with Model-Based Systems Engineers using DODAF and UAF methodologies to develop architecture artifacts.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and subcontractors, to support architecture development.
  • Support legacy system integration and develop strategies for continuous modernization.
  • Work with government customers and contractors to formulate, review, and execute task plans, ensuring deliverables meet approved timelines.
  • Apply quality management and process improvement practices.
  • Organize, monitor, and track project tasks to meet timelines and milestones.
  • Prepare and deliver clear written and verbal communications, including status updates, technical briefings, and programmatic updates.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and customers to develop strategies enhancing performance and reliability.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and mentor team members to support high performance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 15 years of related experience. Additional relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Extensive experience in one or more of the following: system architecture, design and development, requirements analysis, data flow design, network design, testing, or technical system documentation.
  • Proven experience with System Engineering modeling tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering using DODAF and/or Unified Architectural Framework (UAF).
  • Experience supporting legacy system integration and developing modernization strategies.
  • Experience working with government customers and contractors to execute task plans and ensure deliverable completion.
  • Strong background in quality management and process improvement.
  • Ability to organize, monitor, and manage project tasks to meet timelines and milestones.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and delivering clear written and verbal communications, including status updates and technical briefings.
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams and customers to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience mentoring team members.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of direct experience with Systems Engineering modeling tools.
  • 5+ years of experience applying SAFe for large systems development.
  • Experience developing and simulating systems engineering models.
  • Experience with or familiarity with DODAF 2.0.
  • Experience transitioning legacy systems to modern architectures.
  • Experience delivering briefings to stakeholders, including technical teams, leadership, customers, and executives.
  • CAMEO experience is a plus.

Pay

Pay Range: $154,050.00 - $278,475.00. The range is a general guideline and may vary based on responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, market data, and other factors.
