Systems Development Engineer II, AWS Commerce Platform-ADC
About the role
The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC), AWS Commerce Platform team is hiring a cleared Systems Development Engineer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.
Responsibilities
- Build and support Amazon’s billing systems in air-gapped cloud environments
- Develop and maintain services and tooling to improve operational posture
- Design and build the operational scalability that sustains the platform's rapid growth
- Deliver impact at scale, unlocking the latest in billing and cost management capabilities for all of our US ADC customers
Requirements
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Qualifications
- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
- 1+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience

Pay
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
