Systems Development Engineer II, AWS Commerce Platform-ADC

About the role

The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC), AWS Commerce Platform team is hiring a cleared Systems Development Engineer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of highly talented engineers that build and support Amazon’s billing systems in air-gapped cloud environments as well as services and tooling to improve how we operate these services.
• Deliver impact at scale by delivering services and tooling that enhance the operational posture and think about the impact of their designs on the scalability, availability, and operational readiness of what they create.
• Balance constraints and consider the long-term implications of their design decisions.

Requirements

• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 2+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience

Skills

• Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).

• USA, CO, Denver - 129,200.00 - 174,800.00 USD annually
