Systems and Network Engineer
About the role
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, management, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure with an emphasis on Cisco Meraki and Fortinet solutions. This role partners closely with Security, Systems, and Cloud teams, and ensures high availability, performance, and security across corporate LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless networks spanning multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise networking across LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi using Fortinet and Cisco Meraki solutions in multi-site environments.
- Configure NGFW policies, routing, segmentation, NAT, and IPSec/SSL VPN connectivity to ensure secure and resilient access across sites.
- Manage SD-WAN connectivity between branches, sort centers, colocation facilities, and cloud environments to support high availability and performance.
- Monitor and optimize network health using Meraki Dashboard and analytics/monitoring tools, driving performance improvements and proactive issue detection.
- Support routers, switches, wireless access points, and security infrastructure; troubleshoot complex issues end-to-end and coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Integrate Meraki with cloud services and IAM, ensuring compatibility with existing enterprise platforms and access models.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including designs, topologies, and procedures, to support consistent operations and scalable growth.
- Partner with Security, Systems, and Cloud teams to align network strategy with business goals, while mentoring IT staff on NGFW and networking best practices.
- Stay current on firmware, tools, and industry trends, contributing to upgrade planning and operational readiness.
Requirements
5+ years of enterprise network engineering/administration experience
Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiEMS) in production environments
Full-stack Cisco Meraki hands-on administration across MX, MS, MR (with practical experience using Dashboard for configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting)
Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs (IPSec/SSL), DNS, DHCP, OSPF, and BGP
Proven experience supporting multi-site networks with SD-WAN connectivity patterns and secure segmentation
Experience working in 24/7 or near-24/7 environments (including on-call participation)
Knowledge of datacenter connectivity/design, plus exposure to virtualization and backup connectivity considerations
Familiarity with network monitoring/observability tools (e.g., SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, or similar)
Ability to travel up to 25%
Qualifications
Expertise in full-stack Meraki (MX, MS, MR) and integrating Meraki with IAM or SD-WAN solutions
Proficiency in cloud networking across Azure, AWS, and GCP
Deep understanding of Zero Trust, SASE, and NAC frameworks
Strong support of Cloudflare WAF and proxied DNS
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
Skills

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $126,000 - $188,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
Schedule
This position may be performed remotely in states where the company is authorized to employ individuals.
