Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & Network Management
- Systems Administration: Configure, install, and maintain physical Dell servers, virtualization environments, software, and peripherals.
- Network Operations: Configure and maintain core Cisco Catalyst switches, routers, corporate Wi-Fi, and VPNs across multiple locations.
- Storage & Recovery: Manage on-premises and cloud data backups, migrations, and disaster recovery testing.
- Asset Tracking: Practice network asset management by maintaining hardware inventories, documentation, and technical specifications.
- Identity, Cloud, & Collaboration
- Domain & Identity: Administer Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, group policies, and file services in a distributed environment.
- Cloud & Collaboration: Manage the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment, Webex, Teams, VoIP, and mobile communication assets.
- Endpoint Deployment: Oversee deployment and connectivity for workstations, servers, printers, scanners, and input/output devices.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Edge Security: Manage Cisco Firepower firewalls and Zscaler Internet Security policies.
- Endpoint & Email Protection: Monitor alerts via CrowdStrike Falcon Complete, Microsoft Defender, and Mimecast email security gateways.
- Regulatory Compliance: Implement policies to protect data, manage access controls, and align infrastructure with cybersecurity regulations.
- Strategy, Support, & Monitoring
- Proactive Monitoring: Review system logs and track server performance to ensure uptime, security, and hardware availability.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders on capacity planning, long-term architectural goals, and IT policy documentation.
- Tiered Support: Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware or software issues escalated by users, coordinating with vendors when necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional IT groups and support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
- Job Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience in network or systems administration.
- Hardware & Networking: Direct experience with Dell server hardware and Cisco Catalyst switching.
- Security & Systems: Proficiency with Cisco Firepower, Zscaler, Active Directory, Group Policy, and M365 administration.
- EDR Tools: Familiarity with endpoint detection platforms like CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender.
- Location: Ability to commute and work on-site daily in Springfield, TN.
- Preferred Education & Certifications
- Network Certifications: CCNA or CCNP highly preferred.
- Systems/Security Certifications: Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104) or CompTIA Security+.
- Education: Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
- Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds unassisted to move hardware.
- Mobility: Ability to crawl, crouch, climb, bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods during server installations.
- Dexterity: Ability to use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble small components and wiring.
- Sensory: Sharp vision (color differentiation/depth perception) and clear hearing to troubleshoot physical hardware and environments.
- Communication: Ability to speak and hear to fluently exchange technical information in English.
