About the role
This position is primarily responsible for desktop support in a corporate office or field location. Key duties include supporting end-user devices, conference room technology, inventory management, and onboarding new hires. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Triage and diagnose user issues that cannot be resolved by the service desk
- Mentor Tier I personnel to improve problem resolution efficiency and knowledge of Service Desk staff
- Assemble and install servers and other equipment within the data center
- Complete tasks assigned for approved application and/or infrastructure change controls
- Collaborate with other IT personnel on technology and support issues
- Work with applications and infrastructure teams on new initiatives and their infrastructure impacts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer sciences, a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience
- Experience with:
- Operating systems software
- Computer hardware
- Networking
- Communications
- Security administration
- Database administration
- Experience interacting with external customers and vendors
Skills
- Knowledge of current data networking and/or server technologies, including:
- Desktop/laptop hardware, operating systems, and Office suite
- IP networking
- Windows server and/or Unix operating systems
- Shared storage technologies
- Virtualization technologies
- Event monitoring, logging, and data collection techniques
- Ability to apply arithmetic and computer math
- Ability to identify, research, and analyze systems software problems and perform systems evaluations
- Ability to review and interpret manuals, journals, computer display screens, printouts, error logs, and correspondence
- Ability to research, prepare, and compose systems operating procedures, documentation, reports, and correspondence
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact, advise, guide, train, and communicate effectively
- Ability to communicate and exchange information, including conducting oral presentations

Pay
Expected salary range: $77,000.00 - $115,000.00
