Hybrid role (3 days/week in office) at our Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, Salt Lake City, Boise, Lewiston, or Fargo offices. Candidates must reside within commutable distance of that location or be willing to relocate.

About the role

Join our Cause to create a person-focused and economically sustainable health care system. As a member of the DTS Member Management team, the Systems Analyst participates in a team environment for the development, maintenance, and delivery of product/application(s) and data integrations as an integral part of a multi-functional team. This position is generally responsible for business, data, and product/application analysis, requiring business, analytical, design, interpersonal, technical, and administrative skills.

Qualifications

  • Systems Analyst I: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of business or system experience developing requirements for projects where computer software is created, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Systems Analyst II: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of business or system experience developing requirements for projects where computer software is created, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience, including experience with methodologies and structured analytical approach.
  • Systems Analyst III: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of business or system experience developing requirements for projects where computer software is created, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience, including experience with methodologies and structured analytical approach.
  • Systems Analyst IV: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of business or system experience developing requirements for projects where computer software is created, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience, including experience with methodologies and structured analytical approach.

Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to work with teammates and business partners to gather, translate, and document system requirements to support transforming them into effective technology solutions.
  • Ability to create simple story cards, understand simple acceptance criteria, develop simple technical documentation, and understand technical documentation and concepts.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate one-to-one and small group sessions (3-5) for small work efforts.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships among business partners, teammates, and management.
  • Ability to follow direction, collaborate effectively with peers, and relay status to management and peers in a timely manner.
  • Able to plan and manage their own work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, rigorous logic, and problem-solving methods, looking beyond the obvious and asking probing questions.
  • Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to encourage and manage questions.
  • Exposure and knowledge of common software development methodologies.
  • Able to contribute to a QA strategy.

Additional Requirements by Level

  • Level II:
    • Understands moderately complex acceptance criteria to verify results.
    • Develops technical documentation and understands moderately complex technical documentation.
    • Facilitates and leads small teams (1-3) for moderate work efforts, including estimating, coordinating, and tracking progress.
    • Participates in requirements sessions/interviews and documents clear requirements for moderate work efforts.
    • Mastering knowledge and skills of common software development methodologies.
  • Level III:
    • Leads small teams (3-5) for complex work efforts, including estimating, coordinating, tracking progress, and creating status reports.
    • Presents and effectively communicates with leadership.
    • Participates in the definition of a QA plan.
    • Uses and coaches more junior team members and business partners on development methodologies.
  • Level IV:
    • Leads large teams (5+) for highly complex work efforts, including estimating, coordinating, and tracking progress.
    • Leads multiple development methodologies and tools, contributing to the maturity and growth of the delivery lifecycle.
    • Leads requirements sessions/interviews for cross-functional and highly complex work efforts.
    • Guides groups to consensus and influences change.
    • Demonstrated familiarity with various technologies, including application development languages, client/server systems, security, web servers, and third-party integration tools.
    • Partners with developers and architects to assess relevant information and recommend solutions to complex business problems.
    • Works with partners, vendors, and clients to resolve data/integration issues.
    • Familiarity with architectural abstractions and design patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Read and create simple structured specifications such as use cases and story cards.
  • Read and understand design and business models, including basic technical understanding.
  • Write SQL queries and read simple data models.
  • Act as a liaison between the development team and end users to create deliverables, including analysis, development (SQL/scripting), quality, and validation.
  • Provide level 1 on-call support, including application monitoring, issue identification and routing, and on-call support communications.
  • Manage tasks on smaller work efforts in support of the software development methodology.
  • Actively acquire in-depth knowledge of health care and insurance terminology and concepts.
  • Provide estimates for small tasks, increasing accuracy as work progresses.

Work Environment

  • Work primarily performed in an office environment.
  • Travel may be required, locally or out of state.
  • May be required to work outside normal hours, including being on call 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.

Pay

  • Systems Analyst I:
    • Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: Expected hiring range $59K - $74K, full salary range $59K - $97K, bonus target 10%.
    • North Dakota: Expected hiring range $26.00 - $34.00/hour, full salary range $26.00 - $42.00/hour.
  • Systems Analyst II:
    • Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: Expected hiring range $72K - $90K, full salary range $72K - $117K, bonus target 10%.
    • North Dakota: Expected hiring range $66K - $86K, full salary range $66K - $106K.
  • Systems Analyst III:
    • Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: Expected hiring range $87K – $109K, full salary range $87K – $142K, bonus target 15%.
    • North Dakota: Expected hiring range $80K - $106K, full salary range $80K - $133K.
  • Systems Analyst IV:
    • Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho: Expected hiring range $104K – $131K, full salary range $104K – $171K, bonus target 15%.
    • North Dakota: Expected hiring range $101K – $134K, full salary range $101K – $167K.
