Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 8-hour shifts (40 hours per week). Weekend work as needed; no on-call required.
Pay
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position: $42.79 – $55.21 – $61.84 per hour. Actual pay rate and pay grade will depend on years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and employer business practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support, change management, and ongoing maintenance for IT applications under the direction of the Manager and/or Lead.
- Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and quality support for assigned applications to ensure high availability in Sharp’s environment.
- Support IT applications and facilitate effective and efficient use of computing resources to enhance client workflows.
- Participate in project initiatives, planning activities, and collaborate with other Analysts.
Communication
- Ensure effective communication with stakeholders, identifying key internal and external roles (e.g., process owner, approver, resource, team member, or interested party).
- Use appropriate written and oral communication tools tailored to the audience to ensure stakeholders receive timely and relevant information.
- Develop and achieve consensus on communication plans, evaluate and refine them for improvement.
- Work closely with the IS help desk to provide education and facilitate problem resolution.
- Collaborate with client leadership to gather input on projects and enhancements.
- Coordinate interactions with key vendors and proactively communicate completion dates.
- Notify requestors and management promptly if project schedules may not be met.
- Communicate operational issues effectively and share useful ideas and information with others.
Leadership
- Exercise leadership to promote customer satisfaction by demonstrating expertise in applications and business operations.
- Identify client expectations and priorities through effective communication and interaction.
- Resolve conflicts between client expectations and department priorities.
- Propose and implement creative solutions to problems under the guidance of the manager or designee.
- Participate in client interactions to ensure understanding, agreement, and attainment of project goals.
- Engage in training with other departments as requested.
Problem Analysis and Resolution
- Utilize effective and creative problem-solving techniques to develop quality services and resolve issues within Information System’s framework.
- Analyze and support effective client workflows.
- Perform problem analysis using sound judgment, initiative, and discretion.
- Analyze user needs and requirements through user interaction, review of department policies/procedures, and system capabilities to ensure optimal functionality and user satisfaction.
- Identify root causes and recommend viable solutions.
- Conduct impact analysis of proposed solutions on other applications.
- Seek out required data for problem analysis and resolution.
- Use effective interviewing skills to elicit client requirements.
- Respond to issues in a manner and time frame consistent with department guidelines, including ticket transfer procedures if appropriate.
- Use application-specific tools to monitor system health as needed.
Project Management
- Demonstrate consistent and effective application of project management methodologies.
- Participate in developing an accurate scope, definition, and charter for projects.
- Participate in the development and execution of training plans.
- Determine and plan for appropriate project task support and communication.
- Participate in risk identification and mitigation.
- Follow approved project management standards and report progress of implementations.
System Configuration and Testing
- Configure, develop, and execute plans to ensure optimum system performance.
- Ensure appropriate use of test environments and perform testing using established test plans, documenting results.
- Maintain software changes across production and test environments according to IS policy.
- Develop test scripts that include standard functionality, client workflow, tables/dictionaries, screen design, system options, and rules.
- Ensure production delays do not occur due to negligence or failure to follow proper procedures.
- Follow change management procedures and scheduled/unscheduled downtime processes, including disaster recovery procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Sharp Security policies.
- Demonstrate awareness of vendor SLAs, including response time, resolution time, and escalation time.
- Actively collaborate with peers, seek mentoring to improve knowledge, and work with team members to develop and perform User Acceptance Testing plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (e.g., Health Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Nursing, or Health Care Administration) preferred.
- Relevant experience in excess of 3 years in health services or appropriate certifications may substitute for the degree.
- 3 years of experience in a health system involving systems analysis and/or information technology activities.
- Complete all IT Proficiency Requirements within one year, if applicable.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma White Belt preferred.
- Certification directly related to the application being supported preferred, if applicable.
Skills
- Proficiency in the applications supported by the department, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Project Web App.
- Ability to calmly and professionally respond to frequent deadlines for reports and related tasks, and prepare work and presentations on short notice.
- Frequent telephone use; must be able to hear and speak clearly by telephone.
