Systems Analyst
About the role
The Department of Information Technology at the City of Bradenton, FL offers a compensation range up to $34.99 per hour, with benefits based on experience. This position is classified as Non-Exempt, On-call 24x7, and is part of Bargaining Unit None. It is an Essential Classification requiring employees to report to duty as needed for emergencies or hurricanes.
Responsibilities
- Configure and install personal computers, peripherals, and phones to City standards.
- Maintain technical procedures and storage rooms to support the implementation of equipment.
- Ensure inventory of IT assets are managed and fully stocked.
- Complete appropriate paperwork for inventory (i.e., hardware and software) and purchasing.
- Interface with vendors for equipment repair.
- Make recommendations for purchases and cascading equipment.
- Provide application and technical support.
- Analyze user requests and develop reports to support business needs.
- Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with team members, management, customers, and vendors.
- Promote courtesy and professionalism throughout the City of Bradenton.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associates Degree with three (3) years of experience providing desktop support.
- At the discretion of the hiring manager, a comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the above qualifications.
- Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

- Provide excellent customer service.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of computer operations (hardware and software).
- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft applications and the internet.
- Demonstrate sound verbal and written communication skills, good troubleshooting and analytical skills.

- Present technical information in a non-technical manner.
- Physically move computer and related equipment.
Education and Experience
- Absolutely required: Associates Degree with three (3) years of experience providing desktop support.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or related field.
