Systems Administrator (Systems Administration, Analyst)
Summary
The MIL Corporation seeks a Systems Administrator to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD. This role manages Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux based computer systems in support of the MQ-25 Carrier-Based Aerial-Refueling System program.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, support and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
- Administer and support VMware server/cluster environment
- Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology on assigned systems
- Maintain and update operating system security patches
- Maintain the system configuration standard using DoD based Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, coordinate resolution with internal technical resources and external vendors
- Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Analyze and monitor the capacity and performance of systems and software applications and make recommendations for improvements as necessary
- Follow change control procedures during new implementations and changes to existing systems
- Research and implement automated processes to improve operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux System Administration
- Active Security+ CE certification or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
- Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Knowledge of Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) experience
- Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
- Familiarity with the RMF (Risk Management Framework) process
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible with work schedule to include occasional weekends
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification
- A Master's degree will be considered in lieu of 3 years of professional experience

Compensation
The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $125,000 per year. Final salary for this position is determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
About the Role
This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
