Systems Administrator, Operational Tech
Production Support & System Analysis
Provide Tier 2/3 support for critical OT systems to minimize downtime and operational impact.
Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors.
Monitor system health, conduct log analysis, and support recovery activities.
Perform patch management, change management, and ongoing system maintenance.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with software vendors and business stakeholders.
Participate in an on-call support rotation.
System Upgrades, Modernization & Project Leadership
Research, plan, test, and implement software patches and version upgrades.
Lead OT-related software upgrade and implementation projects while coordinating cross-functional teams and IT resources.
Coordinate testing activities, including user testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Educate business stakeholders on OT platform capabilities such as ADMS and AMI.
Follow established change management methodologies and adoption frameworks.
Support quality assurance activities including requirements validation, test planning, and test case execution.
Strategic Systems Support & Business Collaboration
Develop expertise in OT business systems and recommend strategic technology improvements.
Support configuration updates and enhancements to resolve operational business issues.
Partner with business units to identify operational and process requirements.
Document business processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay informed on emerging technologies and utility industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in computer sciences or related field
Five or more years of hands-on OT / IT infrastructure work including systems like SCADA, ADMS, OMS etc. - Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or related field
Three or more years of hands-on OT / IT infrastructure work including systems like SCADA, ADMS, OMS etc. - Current and valid driver’s license
Three or more years of direct user interaction experience
Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Proficiency in SCADA, ADMS, OMS, and related technologies
- Experience with system monitoring and log analysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay
The anticipated hiring range is between $101,100 - 132,720. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level.
Schedule
The position is based in Ramsey, Minnesota, and is eligible for an on-call support rotation.

This role supports Operational Technology (OT) platforms including ADMS, OMS, SCADA, Advanced Systems, Mobile Field Client technologies, and OT/IT integrations such as IVR and AMI. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Technology teams, this position helps ensure OT systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with business and operational goals.
