Responsibilities

  • Supports implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure and associated processes.
  • Provides support for day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various IT devices.
  • Handles Tier 1 and Tier 2 help desk and escalation issues.
  • Communicates status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Supports the dispatch system and handles hardware-related issues.
  • Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems.
  • Installs, loads, troubleshoots, and maintains network components.
  • Implements operating system enhancements and updates to improve system reliability, security, and performance.
  • Creates and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS).
  • Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches.
  • Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines.
  • Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality.
  • Communicates with developers and DevOps team members for system administration support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Applies patches and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoots server issues.
  • Administers customer accounts.
  • Deploys monitoring tools.
  • Deploys applications and tools.
  • Assists with escalated customer tickets.
  • Installs and cabled equipment.

  • Nagios or similar monitoring applications
  • Scripting experience (Python/Perl)

Pay

  • The salary range for this position is: $155,000-205,000

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI clearance with FS Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • 10 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • 5 years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
  • Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
  • Experience working within a cloud environment (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
  • Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus
  • Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi)
