About the role
This position is for an experienced Systems Administrator with a focus on Epic Bridges interfaces. The role involves system build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of assigned applications. The ideal candidate will use their clinical or IT systems knowledge to develop and support safe, high-quality care through the electronic health record, performing in-depth investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support Epic Bridges interfaces for new projects.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot HL7 messages.
- Perform system build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of assigned applications.
- Analyze clinical and business operations and investigate user preferences to recommend and implement system changes.
- Serve as a liaison between end-users, third parties, and implementation staff.
- Develop and document internal procedures and prepare specifications for system enhancements.
- Analyze functionality in new releases and test each new release.
- Create fault-tolerant and reusable UNIX-based facilities using C and Korn shell scripting.
- Set up and manage file transfer processes (Connect Direct, XCOM, FTP) across different platforms.
- Use AutoSys for complex scheduling and run ad-hoc reports from AutoSys databases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3-5 years of Epic Bridges experience in a healthcare environment, with demonstrated experience building, modifying, testing, and supporting interfaces.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
Qualifications
- Epic Bridges Certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of integration and interfaces, including HL7 v2 messaging, interface workflows, and data mapping.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and independently investigating, diagnosing, and resolving interface failures.
- UNIX shell script programming (C and Korn shell).
- Knowledge of batch processing, FTP, AWK, and SED.
- Experience with mainframe dataset allocation and security (ACF2).
- Proficiency in SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with interface engines such as Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, or Mirth.
- Familiarity with API and FHIR-based integrations.
