Systems Administrator

Responsible for networking, firewalling, and server administration. The team architects, designs, plans, tests, implements, and administers the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and security applications. Works closely with other areas to ensure optimum reliability and cohesiveness.

Responsibilities

• Architect, recommend, design, implement, and support IT infrastructure and mobile infrastructure application technologies for UNS corporate network and critical operational networks, including Energy Management System, Physical Security, Generation, and Engineering/Substations networks.
• Develop processes and tools to support implementation, maintenance, security, and production scripting and programming of IT infrastructure and security applications.
• Ensure security is maintained on the IT infrastructure and security applications by utilizing security best practices and working with IS Security to implement, configure, and troubleshoot security systems such as LDAP directory services, security information and event management, patch assessment and management, anti-malware, change detection, and vulnerability management and penetration testing.
• Ensure IT infrastructure and security applications are designed and maintained per security regulations and internal computing controls.
• Work with internal and external auditors to implement relevant regulatory controls including NERC CIP and Sarbanes-Oxley on IT infrastructure and security software; remediate audit issues as necessary.
• Ensure change control and release management processes are followed and service levels affected by those changes are maintained.
• Architect, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure and security processes and tools to support litigation holds.
• Lead or participate in IT projects to provide IT infrastructure and security application expertise, guidance, or training.
• Measure performance of IT infrastructure and security applications and take appropriate actions to ensure performance meets client needs and applicable IT service levels.
• Work with internal and external project managers and clients to develop technical and business requirements, design IT infrastructure and security software solutions, prepare capital and expense budget estimates, and complete projects on time.
• Work with IT software application vendors to procure and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure and security applications.
• Manage IT infrastructure and security software suite for corporate and industrial control networks, including developing and testing disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in standing up an Infrastructure Operations Center (similar to a NOC or SOC) to monitor day-to-day occurrences, escalations, and project work.

• Enterprise environment experience: owning a product or data center and understanding how configurations/changes affect the broader environment.
• Server experience and management (Solaris and RHEL preferred; intermediate to senior-level Linux skills desired, but training available for eager candidates).
• Networking and firewalling expertise (primary focus).

Qualifications

• Intermediate-level experience.
• Hybrid position based in Tucson, AZ.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent factors.
