Systems Administrator
About the role
The System Administrator provides system administration for all systems and applications supported by security guidance, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities, implementing and testing security controls, assisting with software upgrades and maintaining a healthy system for the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) network. Tasks include performing tasks required to achieve and maintain Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) for all supported systems and applications, ensuring all servers are virtualized, maintaining accurate diagrams, and maintaining baseline documentation of the server configurations. The System Administrator also provides system administration for applications residing in commercial and Government cloud-based environments, assists the Government with consolidation and rationalization efforts, conducts and maintains daily and weekly backups on and off-site for all production and identified development servers, tests software patches and upgrades, and assists with adhering to Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Cyber Task Orders (CTO), and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs). The System Administrator performs application/system monitoring of all services, including customer-provided applications, and provides problem resolution to restore services that have been degraded or have experienced a mission-impacting service outage.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks required to achieve and maintain Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) for all supported systems and applications
- Ensure all servers are virtualized, maintain accurate diagrams, and maintain baseline documentation of the server configurations
- Provide system administration for applications residing in commercial and Government cloud-based environments
- Afford assistance with consolidation and rationalization efforts that could include the need to migrate applications to an approved hosting environment
- Conduct and maintain daily and weekly backups on and off-site for all production and identified development servers
- Test software patches and upgrades
- Afford assistance with adhering to Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Cyber Task Orders (CTO), and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs)
- Provide problem resolution to restore services that have been degraded or have experienced a mission-impacting service outage
- Perform application/system monitoring of all services, including customer-provided applications
Requirements
Required Bachelor’s Degree in IT related degree with 3 years of experience
Demonstrated experience performing Automated Service Interruptions (ASIs) and STIG compliance
Qualifications
- Have and maintain IAT Level II baseline certification
- Registered IAT Level II baseline certification either CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, and SSCP (preferred Security+ CE certificate)
- Secret Clearance
