About the role
Description Hammond Lumber Company, voted 2025's Best Places to Work in Maine, is seeking a Full-Time Systems Administrator for our Belgrade, Maine location.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support IT Infrastructure according to HLC Standards including: Servers, Firewalls, Switches and other devices.
- Adhere to HLC and IT policies and best practices, providing strategic recommendations, as necessary.
- Maintain systems including customization, configuration, patching, installation, and testing.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by performing diagnostic testing.
- Cookordinate with other IT team members and vendors as necessary.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of systems, problems and solutions appropriately.
- Aids with managing and monitoring of system and application alerts. Responds as needed to resolve issues.
- Performs backup operations and implements appropriate processes for data protection and disaster recovery.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Supports assigned systems through troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software, and connectivity problems.
- Collaborates with IT staff to ensure issues related to assigned systems are communicated appropriately.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with IT maintenance and technical support required.
- Associate degree (or higher), preferred.
- Experience managing and supporting enterprise technology solutions.
- Experience with O365, Windows Server, VMWare ESX, Azure, Intune, and SQL Server.
- Strong understanding of Firewall, WAN, LAN, and WLAN technologies.
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity and FortiGate preferred.
- Ability to travel to other sites and work after hours when needed.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve business problems.
