System Test Automation Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Automation Engineer to become part of our government division. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the automation framework for all components of a global SATCOM network. You will be responsible for the automated validating, verifying, and testing complex satellite communications (SATCOM), tactical networking systems, and end-to-end enterprise services deployed for operational environments. You will work closely with cross-functional systems engineering, development, and network operations teams to ensure robust system performance, high availability, and mission success.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineering and automation teams to automate everything about the software development lifecycle that can be automated
- Develop automation framework for all components of a global SATCOM network
- Automate requirements test coverage and continuous integration
- Automate validation, verification, and testing of complex SATCOM, tactical networking systems, and end-to-end enterprise services
- Collaborate with cross-functional systems engineering, development, and network operations teams
- Ensure robust system performance, high availability, and mission success
- Apply strong systems understanding, comfort with numerous tools and languages, and advanced debugging/troubleshooting skills
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience with programming/scripting languages
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
- Ability to comprehend complex system architectures and find creative approaches to automating repetitive tasks and activities
- Familiar with software configuration management tools: Perforce, Git, Artifactory, CVS
- Familiar with several languages: C/C++, Java, Python, Bash, Ruby, etc.
- SATCOM or Wireless/RF Communication Systems experience
- Strong networking knowledge (IP, TCP, UDP, Multicast, MPLS, REST, etc.)
- Familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
- Comfortable with the Linux environment and common tools
- Excellent communication and team skills
- Travel up to 10%
- US Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance
- Must be able to work out of Carlsbad, CA; Tempe, AZ; Duluth, GA; or Reston, VA office 3 days/week
Preferred Qualifications
- Active US Secret Clearance
- Familiarity with space architectures
- Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker familiarity with container orchestration
- Familiar with several test & automation tools: Robot, Jenkins, Gradle, Ant, Maven, Cucumber, Selenium, Webdriver
- Familiar with virtualization tools: Docker, Vagrant, VMware
Pay
Salary range: $120,500.00 - $190,000.00 annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area, and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is $149,500.00 - $224,500.00 annually. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package.
Schedule
- Travel up to 10%
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days/week in office (Carlsbad, CA; Tempe, AZ; Duluth, GA; or Reston, VA)
