As a System Security Engineering (SSE) Program Lead, you will lead an SSE team, guide program-level systems/software/hardware architects, and serve as a direct interface during key reviews, briefings, and technical exchanges. You will collaborate with customers and engineering disciplines to ensure program-level chief engineers and architectures meet program needs. This role requires a security-conscious approach to analyze and resolve complex SSE issues while balancing cost, schedule, and technical impact.

Responsibilities

• Perform Task Lead duties (e.g., task planning, product ownership, scrum master)
• Implement SSE solutions into RTX products
• Interact with customers to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness
• Develop plans and estimates, execute tasks, track progress, report status, and identify/mitigate risks
• Plan and guide SSE implementations in customer systems
• Consult and assist program line management with SSE architectures and issues
• Conduct attack threat modeling and Critical Program Information Assessments
• Develop top-level system requirements and flow down requirements/implementation concepts to subsystems
• Ensure compliance with DoD technology release and export licensing policies
• Support the development of bids and proposals
• Work with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Provide strategic input and planning for system, applications, architecture, and design in an agile development environment
• Assist in tracking key roadmaps and deliverables

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance (required prior to start date)
• U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
• Experience in System Security Engineering, computer technology reverse engineering, anti-tamper (AT), cybersecurity, or embedded security
• Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real-time embedded security-oriented solutions on DoD programs with secure systems technologies, methodologies, policies, and guidelines
• Experience generating security (AT and/or program protection) requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and/or policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Business Administration, and/or Robotics
• DoD Top Secret clearance with current SSBI within the last 5 years
• Ability to obtain and maintain additional program access as required
• Technical leadership experience
• Experience in design, development, and fielding of SSE systems
• Software, Firmware, & Microelectronics Engineering, Cryptography, and FPGA design
• Experience in the implementation and business growth of SSE throughout the entire lifecycle
• Experience with solutions meeting robust SSE systems security requirements
• Cyber Certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 (e.g., CISSP, GSLC, CEH)
• Program management experience with SSE
• Broad understanding of technology and working knowledge of DODI-S-5230.28
• Aircraft/weapons integration experience
• Strategic planning and proposal writing skills
• Exceptional ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, stakeholders, and customers in a team environment
• Experience contributing to a team environment to develop creative solutions to technical problems

Pay

The salary range for this role is $132,400 – $251,600 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
