System Safety Supervisor

Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a leader in UAS and radar technology, serving the US Air Force and other international clients. We are seeking a System Safety Supervisor to lead our System Safety & RAM Engineering Group.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support safety analysis of UAS programs, including those for the US Air Force and other international customers.
• Lead a team of System Safety engineers to develop, manage, and execute System Safety Programs.
• Communicate system safety findings and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide support for design assurance processes and related milestones like PDRs and CDRs.
• Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements and special material requirements.
• Participate in proposal preparation and ensure compliance with budget and schedule requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Work safely according to company policies.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical field, with progressive engineering experience.
• Experience with unmanned aircraft systems, including ground control systems, is desirable.
• Familiarity with engineering concepts, principles, and codes.
• Experience developing System Safety Program Plans, conducting hazard analyses, and managing safety-critical functions.
• Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
